About Our Cause

Our entire world was turned upside down in October 2013 when my younger brother, Cameron Miller, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Cameron's treatment started immediately with him undergoing chemotherapy for 18 months at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). At this point, the future was very uncertain for our family, and we knew our lives were changed forever.

My name is Cassandra Miller, along with my twin brothers, Canter and Cade we have created a charity to help siblings who have a hospitalized brother or sister. At the time Cameron was diagnosed, he was thirteen years old. I am the oldest of four children along with my younger twin brothers, Canter and Cade. With all the attention at the time given to Cameron, being a sibling of a sick child can make you feel isolated and scared with countless hours in the hospital. Siblings Count will make a difference as each sibling will receive a bag filled with activities and exciting things to do while they are in the hospital to help pass time. Initially, I created Siblings Count as my Gold Award Project for Girls Scouts over five years ago and since then we have watched it grow into a charity helping bring smiles to so many throughout the Los Angeles area.

The siblings just get so used to being the second thought, they become selfless.
